Who we are
When it comes to animal welfare in Livingston parish, the need is evident. And if you put your nose to the ground you will find the want to help is strong and growing by the day.
Our mission is to promote the welfare of pets and their guardians by providing accessible, affordable, and timely spay and neuter services in Livingston Parish. In addition, we are committed to supporting partner organizations with their foster programs, working collaboratively to reduce overpopulation, improve animal welfare, and ensure every pet has a chance to thrive in a loving home.
Since 2013 we have been working with area shelters, rescues, veterinarians and citizens to develop solutions to promote our parish to be a better place for animals and our community.
Our Mission
With a limited number of homes available, the only way to truly reduce euthanasia and shelter overcrowding is through prevention. You can’t be no-kill without no-birth. At DPOL, we tackle pet overpopulation head-on by providing accessible, affordable spay/neuter services and community education to keep pets safe, healthy, and in loving homes.
We are dedicated to improving the welfare of dogs in Livingston Parish by educating pet owners, advocating for responsible pet care, and ensuring that financial barriers don’t prevent families from accessing essential services. While some of our efforts include foster and adoption programs, our primary focus is prevention—because fewer unwanted litters mean fewer pets in shelters.
Together, we’re building a future where every pet is wanted, cared for, and loved.
